What Nobody Tells You:

Nobody tells you how truly terrifying it is to have to believe in yourself wholeheartedly. Everyone will just keep telling you to "go for it," that "you should chase your dreams." Thanks, yeah, that's great... but... why aren't they chasing theirs then? Why is everyone around you not taking the same chance they keep telling you to take?

They are not chasing their dreams because it is absolutely terrifying. To chase your dreams, you have to walk alone sometimes. You have to put in the extra work. You have to be okay with stepping outside of your comfort zone. You have to be okay with taking the hits because nothing is going to work on the first try, but you have to get back up again!

And that's f*cking scary!

So, of course, people are going to tell you to chase your dreams. They probably do this for a couple of reasons. I think that they want to support you, or at least they think they do, because apparently, it makes people feel like they did something good by saying some motivational BS they ripped out of a movie script. It makes them feel like they are helping.

Or, because if they see you chasing your dreams and it working, then maybe, just maybe, it will inspire them enough to chase their dreams too. That they are worth chasing their dreams.

But you, Not following your dreams is selfish.

Because when you don't follow your dreams, you're taking away the chance to inspire anyone who is watching you. You owe it to yourself to show the world that each one of us has the opportunity to be extraordinary.

Its scary, but you'll never regret it.
